How do you bottle paradise, sand, a kiss of sun and a cold drink? We're working on it!
Let's start with music. We are developing a music line up of 4-5 bands consisting of island rich sounds from up-and-coming modern country artists to classic rock legends. In essence, it's our goal to provide an environment that will take you far from the daily grinds.
From the pine-tree atmosphere to the beach accommodations to the sweet sound of music that can spark nostalgia with a single beat, Momboosa will forever serve as a memory to this great thing we call summer.
The Momboosa Music Festival Lineup-
A gifted songwriter and vocalist, Chuck Wicks made a compelling impression with his Top 5 smash, "Stealing Cinderella", the fastest-rising single by a debut country act in 2007.
By the time his first album, Starting Now, was released in January 2008, he had begun a year-long 750,000 fan-packed tour opening for superstar Brad Paisley.
Expanding upon his musical talents, Wicks was a celebrity cast member of the eighth season of ABC's Dancing with the Stars. A Delaware native, Chuck was raised on a family farm, where he grew up loving a variety of music - from traditional country to R&B - but his early career aspirations focused on his passion for sports. He attended Florida Southern College to play baseball, but by his senior year, he found that music had overtaken his athletic aspirations.
Chuck began a series of trips to Nashville, and early interest from record label RCA Nashville inspired a permanent move to Music City, where Chuck spent several years paying his dues, honing his craft, and learning - earning his place within the city's songwriting community and ultimately landing a recording contract with RCA. Alex Woodard, who hails from Southern California, brings his unique brand of surfer-country musical stylings to the Momboosa stage this July.
George Varga, Music Editor of the San Diego Union Tribune says that "Woodard's well-crafted songs are cut from the same cloth as Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Jim Croce, Rodney Crowell, and John Mellencamp, whose music eloquently captures earthy truths about living, loving and growing older without losing the dreams of youth."
Woodard has previously toured and opened for Nickel Creek, Shawn Mullins, Robert Earl Keen, JulIanne Hough, Switchfoot and Sister Hazel.
The Chris Gardner Band
The five-member band has opened for such country stars as Chris Young, Luke Bryan, Love and Theft and Sarah Buxton.
Their inspiration comes from the likes of Third Day, Zac Brown Band and Keith Urban.
The Whitney Myer Band
Whitney Myer is onto something. Her band (made up of her guitarist father Scott Myer and drummer Uncle Fred Myer—both industry vets), literally sparkles with soul and style.
The group’s new record, due in the spring of this year, should help launch what is arguably one of the most promising indie acts around.
Myer’s vocal styling inspires comparisons to Adele, but she has the wide open range and energy of a young Patti LaBelle. On stage, her gifts are on maximum display, as she gets out of body and fully into the groove. Her mellifluous falsetto has a hint of rasp and vibrato. Myer’s soul stirring arpeggios, vocal tone and control, show a confidant musical talent on the rise.
